A mini haul of Sephora by OPI!

Just a reminder that my Konad Kontest ends today!

I picked up three new Sephora by OPI polishes, which I’ve seen referred to as $OPI, haha :) I like the brand, although the regular line doesn’t excite me. It’s the collections that do!

For months, I’ve been lemming 212. I FINALLY got it! I also got Absinthe Makes the Heart and Worth My Weight.

Since 212 was my major $OPI lemming, I’ll start with that:

212

A closer look at the bottle:

This polish is packed like a dust pan cleaning up the confetti after a New Year’s Eve party. It’s got red flakies, multi-colored holo glitter, and the base is this dusty grey/green wanna-be black that has a greenish-golden shimmer to it. This polish has a lot going on. Which is why I love it. The more, the merrier! I love flakies, I love holo glitter and a I love dark colors. It was worth the wait!

Speaking of which! Worth My Weight:

Worth weight

Worth weight 2

Worth My Weight is actually a very fine gold glitter in a clear base, if I’m not mistaken. Then Sephora by OPI threw in some holo glitters, and bang! Bling-bling! This is a great holiday or party color, wish I could have captured that holo goodness on my nails in the daylight. It was a bit sheer after two coats, which is what I applied in that first photo.

Next up! Absinthe Makes the Heart:

Absinthe makes the heart

Absinthe makes the heart 2

Absinthe Makes the Heart is this charcoal, dusty green color with shimers of green, red and copper in the bottle that are more subtle on the nail. This color does not remind me of Absinthe, which is actually a melon-liquor color. I read on Wikipedia that commercial distillation of absinthe only just restarted in 2007. I thought it was still banned, but I imagine it is banned in its original, high-proof spirit form!

Regardless, my favorites of these three are Absinthe and 212. I got 212 during the Sephora Friends & Family discount sale, but all three retail for $9.

Thanks for reading! What do you think of these colors? Do you have any of them?

  1. Oooo I like all of those! Especially 212. So pretty!

  2. You’re right on the absinthe – the one that they make now is minus whatever it was that caused hallucinations.

I love the absinthe polish – I picked up 212 too, but I haven’t tried it yet! I need to!

  3. Haha! I love these, and I’d been considering getting them (if only I wasn’t on no-buy!) but I just think it’s funny that you agree with me on the description of 212. It really is, isn’t it? I love it so dang much.

    • Hannah I just went to your blog and searched for your post on 212 – we really did think the same thing right down to the street after a party LOL!!! I think it works too!

  4. They are all beautiful, but 212 is my favorite – it is a stunner !!! And your nails look so good :-)

  5. They look fantastic on you. I also have 212 and Absinthe. I haven’t worn either yet. The gold looks really pretty but I have so many gold polishes I didn’t want another.

  6. They all look great on you! I have 212 and Absinthe (I also got them during the Sephora FF sale). I *love* 212, but Absinthe unfortunately doesn’t work well with my skin tone (I think because there isn’t enough contrast?).
